Mayor Zeth Matalucci announced today that 200 FREE inkless Child ID Kits will be made available to local families through a collaborative safety effort between the National Child ID Program, National Night Out, and with grant support from AT&T and Johnson & Johnson.
These free kits will be distributed during various community events, including National Night Out, scheduled for August 5, 2025, at the Dennis Township Recreation Center.
“We urge our residents to attend National Night Out and pick up a free Child ID Kit,” said Mayor Matalucci. “These kits give families immediate access to vital identifying information that during an emergency can save investigators hours and help bring children home faster.”
Each Child ID Kit includes:
• An inkless fingerprinting section
• DNA sample collection
• Physical description and medical information
• A place for a recent photo
• QR code linking video instructions and information (both English and Spanish)
The kits are completed and stored by parents at home. No information is shared or entered into any database—privacy remains fully in the hands of each family.
According to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children, an estimated 1,000 children go missing every day in the U.S. The Child ID Kit allows parents to provide vital information to law enforcement.
The Child ID Kits are provided at no cost to families. Families are encouraged to complete the kits at home and store them in a secure place.
