The Township of Dennis will hold a public hearing to obtain comments regarding the proposed administrative transfer of an access easement on Green Acres encumbered parkland to the State of New Jersey, Department of Environmental Protection as part of a mutual exchange of access easements. The Township proposes to transfer an access easement on 0.33 acre of Block 31, Lot 13 to the State in exchange for an access easement on 0.50 acre of Block 31, Lot 5.01 and 0.12 acre of Block 31, Lot 29 (owned by the State). The purpose of the proposed transfer and exchange of easements is to give both the Township and the State legal rights to an existing access road located at Chestnut Street Park, 154 Chestnut Street, Woodbine, NJ 08270 (Block 31, Lot 13), which is located partially on Township property and partially on State property and also serves Belleplain State Forest.

Public comment on this parkland transfer request will be accepted during the public hearing or until October 26, 2021. On or after October 26, 2021, the Township of Dennis may take formal action to approve the proposed transfer of unfunded parkland, subject to approval of the transfer documents by the Green Acres Program and compliance with the other requirements of N.J.A.C. 7:36-25.5.
