Atlantic City Electric Infrastructure Upgrades

Atlantic City Electric is committed to providing safe and reliable energy service for its customers and communities. Each day, essential work is being performed to modernize and strengthen the local energy grid against more frequent and impactful weather events to increase resiliency and enhance energy service for its customers.

As part of this effort, the company will be upgrading electric infrastructure on an existing transmission line that runs from Upper Township to Dennis Township. This work is expected to begin March 24 and be completed by late-April 2026, weather permitting.

Atlantic City Electric’s contractor, MJ Electric, will be using a helicopter to perform these upgrades starting in the transmission right-of-way from Beesley’s Point to the company’s Corson Substation, located near Corson Tavern Road and Ocean View-Woodbine Road in Dennis Township. The helicopter work will minimize any impact on the environment while enabling easier access to energy infrastructure along the transmission line route.

This work will occur Monday through Saturday, weather permitting, from approximately 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Atlantic City Electric looks forward to further improving reliability in these communities and appreciates the patience and understanding of its customers as the company performs these important upgrades.
